Guest post by Lisa Orrell, CPC: The Promote U Guru
On a regular basis (practically weekly!), I have new clients, or audience members in my workshops, say to me, “I have a Fan Page, but I’m not sure what to do with it and I can’t seem to grow my numbers”. Or, “I want to start a Fan Page but I have no idea what I’d use it for”. So, I can honestly say first hand, that although you may run a successful Fan Page, there are thousands of people out there who are still extremely baffled by them.
Here are the 2 biggest mistakes I see many Fan Page owners make: They only post information promoting their own services, products and/or events; and, even if they do know it’s important to post a wide variety of useful information for their members, they don’t post consistently. Tweet this tidbit!
It’s like having a blog or Twitter account; if you only put out info about you, or only tweet a few times per week, or only write a new blog post once a month, your social media networks will not benefit you! Truly, if any of that describes you, you’re better off not even using those social media tools because making those common mistakes actually reflect poorly on your brand…not support it. And, the whole point of using those tools, including a Fan Page, is to enhance your brand and build awareness for it!
So, based on the struggles I see many people have with their Fan Pages, I decided that my latest “how to” video for my Promote U Guru YouTube Channel would be, “6 Ways to Improve Your Fan Page Posts”. Many people have sent me comments saying they found the quick-hit info I provided extremely helpful so be sure to check it out. Even if you just learn ONE tip that can help you improve your Fan Page presence, it was worth watching!
