So, I've fallen for Tanya Geisler.
A coach extraordinaire whose mission is to help others step into their starring role, she hosts a weekly interview series called “Thing Finding Thursday.” I recently watched a video of her chat with Danielle LaPorte on a range of topics, but this snippet on comparison stood out for me. Danielle said:
"Oh, comparison. It’s toxic. It’s a killer. Don’t do it.
"It goes like this. What I want to say has already been said. Her brand is like my brand. She got there, he got there to market before I did. Who am I to do this? I’m not qualified. They have more qualifications. They, they, they, they, they. Guess what?
"You’re an original just because it’s all coming through your lens, your perspective, your voice, your experience, your drive, your level of interest.
"So nobody has said what you’re going to say … so comparison sucks. Just stop and knock it off. Just go on a comparison diet."
Seattlites, join us at an upcoming event. We'd love to see you!
